Musculus latissimus dorsi
The widest muscle of the back; gives the 'V' taper and is the main muscle of all vertical and horizontal pulls.
- Function
- Shoulder extension, adduction and internal rotation.
- Origin
- T7–L5 spinous processes, the thoracolumbar fascia and the iliac crest.
- Insertion
- Floor of the intertubercular groove of the humerus.
