Pectoralis Major

The large fan-shaped muscle of the chest; central to all pressing movements.

Function

Shoulder flexion, adduction, internal rotation and horizontal adduction.

Origin

Clavicle, sternum and the upper costal cartilages.

Insertion

Lateral lip of the intertubercular groove of the humerus.
